Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and data-driven Business Analyst to support our product and category management, competitor monitoring, and pricing strategies. This role will leverage data to identify high-potential products, recommend optimal pricing strategies, and develop dynamic Excel/Google Sheets dashboards to inform decision-making. The ideal candidate will blend analytical expertise with a passion for building practical systems that drive business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Product & Category Prioritization
- Analyze market trends, competitor listings, and pricing to recommend which products/categories should be prioritized for upload.
- Develop a product prioritization model (e.g., priority scores, filters) to guide the team’s efforts.
Competitor Monitoring & Price Analysis
- Monitor competitor websites to track product listings, price changes, promotions, and stock availability.
- Build competitor pricing dashboards to compare prices across multiple retailers and identify opportunities to stay competitive.
Market Trend Analysis
- Research and analyze emerging trends, seasonal demands, and popular brands.
- Recommend new categories or product types to capture growth opportunities.
Dynamic Dashboard & Tool Development (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Design and maintain interactive Excel or Google Sheets dashboards for:
- Product prioritization
- Competitor price tracking
- Sales performance analysis
- Trend and opportunity tracking
- Automate workflows and data imports where possible to reduce manual work.
Data-Driven Pricing Strategy
- Develop models to compare our pricing with competitors.
- Recommend pricing adjustments to remain competitive while protecting margins.
Supplier/Source Evaluation
- Analyze product sources for price, reliability, and availability.
- Recommend the best supplier/retailer sources for each product.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Create weekly/monthly reports summarizing:
- High-performing vs. low-performing products
- Price competitiveness
- Market share insights
- Present insights to the team to drive continuous improvement.
Alerts & Notifications
- Set up systems (e.g., conditional formatting, email notifications) to highlight important events such as price drops, out-of-stock alerts, or new competitor listings.
Additional Responsibilities (Future Potential):
- Develop forecasting models for sales and demand planning.
- Create visualizations and storyboards to make data actionable and easy to interpret.
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and support the onboarding of new suppliers.
- Train and support team members on using dashboards and analytics tools effectively.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in business analysis, e-commerce analytics, or a similar role.
- Strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros) and/or Google Sheets (functions, conditional formatting, basic scripting).
- Experience with competitor analysis, pricing intelligence, and market research.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
