The Sustainability Specialist is responsible for supporting TCP’s ESG and vendor compliance framework by ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, sustainable supply chain initiatives, and industry best practices. This role involves vendor tracking against ESG and sustainability risk assessment, compliance monitoring, chemical reporting, and more to promote a culture of integrity and accountability.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
- Track vendor ESG and sustainability performance indicators using industry tools, and against applicable regulatory framework and internal policies.
- Support cross functional teams with sustainable material and product tracking.
- Analyze vendor data and scale adoption of industry standards.
- Support TCP with industry engagement through ZDHC, The BHive, Cascale, Wordly, and other organizations.
- Support supply chain risk mitigation plan.
- Maintain good relationship with TCP international vendors and analyze their performance data.
- Support new vendor onboarding in compliance programs and provide training as required.
- Maintain documentation and ensure timely submission of regulatory documents.
- Support ad-hoc tasks/projects assigned by management team.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Science or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in sustainability, compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs.
- Strong understanding of local and international compliance regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in compliance management tools and regulatory reporting systems
- Effective problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with apparel manufacturing.
- Strong sense of industry fashion trends (current and emerging).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), in addition to research, reporting and analytic tools.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
