What is Manager Strategic Initiatives?
As the Manager Strategic Initiatives, you will play a critical role in the identification, development and execution of strategic projects – that include organizational undertakings and new product classes through partner collaborations. The role would entail devising and implementing regulatory strategies whilst navigating laws and licensing frameworks, ensuring adherence to organizational needs, commercial interests, and regulatory frameworks. You will be responsible to review, construct and track new commercial arrangements, contracts, develop new product possibilities, and engage with industry stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, and occasional engagements with other stakeholders on important industry matters.
What does Manager Strategic Initiatives do?
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Strategic Initiatives:
· Leads the planning and execution of strategic projects, including new product development and partner-driven initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
· Manages cross-functional teams, tracks project progress, and engages with regulators and industry stakeholders to support successful delivery and long-term impact.
Devising Regulatory Strategy:
· Develop and implement regulatory strategies in response to new and adverse laws, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and commercial interests.
· Monitor regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on the organization, providing proactive guidance to product heads and management.
Product Review and Compliance:
· Review contracts to ensure their adherence to organizational needs, commercial interests, and regulatory frameworks; identifying and mitigating legal and compliance risks.
· Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure products and their respective commercial arrangements with supliers, partners etc. are in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Product Development:
· Evaluate regulatory injunctions and legal frameworks to identify opportunities for new product development, advising on product feasibility and regulatory compliance.
· Work closely with product development teams to integrate regulatory requirements into product design and development processes.
Stakeholder Engagement:
· Draft correspondences and engage with other Industry players, regulatory authorities, and industry associations on important industry matters, representing the organization's interests effectively.
· Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and advocacy efforts, promoting the organization's regulatory position in furtherance of digital financial inclusion.

Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be Manager Strategic Initiatives?
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, law, or related fields; advanced degrees will be preferred.
- Preference shall be held for holding primary experience in the banking and/or fintech industry
- A minimum of five years of experience in a managerial role, with a demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving the successful delivery of organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic planning capabilities, with hands-on experience in formulating and executing business goals in alignment with broader corporate priorities.
- A solid understanding of licensing processes and regulatory frameworks is essential, particularly in navigating complex compliance landscapes. The candidate should also have proven experience collaborating with legal advisors and management consultants to develop and implement strategic initiatives, including the creation of detailed execution roadmaps.
