- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety qualifications or relevant qualifications.
- Certificate or Diploma in OHS.
- Formal Accident Investigation Training (e.g. ICAM / Taproot / Loss Causation).
- Preferably had operational experience in Health, Safety, or Loss Prevention or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in Construction / Resources industries.
- Experience with writing procedures and standards – safety systems.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the relevant Regulations, Standards, and Codes of Practice.
- Strong relationship building, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Self-direct their learning.
- Exhibit strong organization and planning skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Provide occupational health and safety advice and support across site.
- Implementation and adherence to safety systems.
- Facilitate accident and incident investigations.
- Conduct auditing and governance around safety on major hazards and contractors.
- Safety coaching and development of RDMC Personnel.
- Quality control of incident investigations.
- Procedure development.
- Participate in the Critical Control Management Program.
- Ensure responsibilities outlined in the H&S Management Plan are understood and adhered to by all personnel.
- Liaise with contractors and RDMC in relation to H&S activities.
- Audits compliance to RDMC safety rules and policies, procedures, and programs as well as Government requirements.
- Assists Departmental Managers in the implementation/Supervision of H&S activities.
- Support in the implementation of emergency response procedures in his/her area of responsibilities.
- Support in the implementation of OHH programs in his/her area of responsibilities.
- Advises line management and contractors regarding safety rules, regulations, trends, statistics, and compliance with rules and policies.
- Participate at the accident investigation, observations, safety interactions, inspections, and safety meetings to assure that programs are working as intended.
- Ensures compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Assist line supervisors to have observations/safety interactions for their positions.
- Conduct, manage, and coordinate periodical safety inspections as listed in the HSE Activity Planner.
- Participate in H&S meetings (RDMC and contractors).
