Purpose:
The Sr. Field Resident Medical Officer (RMO) will be responsible for providing on-site medical care, conducting psychiatric assessments, and supporting community outreach efforts to promote mental health awareness and treatment. This role includes direct interaction with patients, coordinating with community health teams, and ensuring that mental health services are accessible to underserved populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and provide diagnosis and treatment in the community setting.
- Support the outreach team in identifying mental health issues within the community.
- Provide follow-up care and ensure continuity of treatment for patients.
- Educate community members on mental health awareness and available services.
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers and social workers to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and submit reports to the Head of Medical Services.
- Assist in organizing and conducting mental health awareness programs.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices in patient care and adhere to medical and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- MBBS degree with a valid PMDC (Pakistan Medical & Dental Council) registration.
- Experience in psychiatry or mental health services preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience, particularly in community-based healthcare or psychiatry.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to perform psychiatric assessments and interventions.
- Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and community members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the community's needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
