Technical Lead – React Native & API Integrations (Onsite, Islamabad)

About the Role
We’re building a custom mobile and web platform from scratch — no templates, no clones — for a licensed digital GLP-1 weight loss clinic based in the UK.
You’ll lead the technical build of our MVP and work on real-world health integrations like smart scales, CGMs, Apple HealthKit, and lab testing APIs. We’re also exploring HIPAA-compliant platforms like Healthie to support backend clinical operations — so you’ll help us evaluate and integrate the best tools for speed and scale.
You’ll collaborate closely with our onsite product manager in Islamabad and a remote CTO advisor.
What You’ll Do
- Lead development of our React Native mobile app (iOS & Android)
- Design and implement our backend architecture — Firebase or custom (Node.js/PostgreSQL) depending on technical direction
- Integrate with third-party tools and APIs (e.g. Withings, Dexcom, Stripe, Apple HealthKit, Healthie)
- Ensure secure, reliable data flows — especially for sensitive health data
- Make smart technical tradeoffs to ship a lean, fast MVP
- Maintain high code quality and performance across mobile + backend
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years of hands-on development experience
- Strong expertise in React Native
- Experience with either Firebase, or custom backend stacks like Node.js/PostgreSQL
- Proven ability to integrate third-party APIs and SDKs (REST, OAuth, Webhooks)
- Confident working in a fast-paced, founder-led startup
- Must be available onsite in Islamabad
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Healthie, Apple HealthKit, CGMs, or other health/wellness APIs
- Familiarity with HIPAA or working in regulated environments
- Stripe subscriptions or payment integration experience
- Prior experience building or scaling a healthtech or fitness product
