Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Lead to oversee our Shopify development team. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a passion for clean and scalable code, and a proven ability to lead a team of developers. You will be responsible for setting coding standards, , managing the development lifecycle, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality eCommerce solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of Shopify developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
Conduct code reviews, technical audits, and performance evaluations.
Coordinate task assignments, project timelines, and sprint planning.
Design scalable and efficient Shopify architectures (Shopify Plus and custom apps).
Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, performance optimization, and security.
Stay current with platform updates and recommend strategic improvements.
Oversee full-cycle development from requirement gathering to deployment.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and QA teams to deliver pixel-perfect, responsive storefronts
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend tools/frameworks that support scalability and performance.
Drive continuous improvement across development processes and codebases.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code and workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
4+ years of professional experience in web development, with at least 2 years focused on Shopify.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a technical lead or senior developer managing teams or projects.
Experience with third-party app integrations and custom Shopify apps.
Proficient in Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make technical decisions under pressure.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong command over:
- Liquid templating language
- Shopify APIs (Storefront, Admin, and custom app development)
- JavaScript, React, and modern front-end frameworks
- HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and responsive design principles
