Position Overview:
We are hiring an Accountant to manage invoicing, payroll processing, accounts receivable/payable, and support core financial operations. This is a full-time remote position with working hours aligned to Eastern Time (Canada). While fresh graduates are welcome to apply, preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate, send, and manage client invoices using QuickBooks (Online and Desktop)
- Process employee payroll accurately and on schedule
- Maintain payroll records and employee timesheets
- Handle accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations and financial reports
- Support payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable laws
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting workflows
- Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum 16 years of education)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Reliable internet connection, laptop, and external monitor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in billing, payroll, AR/AP, or bookkeeping
- Understanding of Canadian/US payroll laws and reporting standards
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience working in a remote team environment is an asset
