The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-Facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatrics Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery. The department has 120 full-time and part-time faculty with a solid commitment to teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency, and fellowship programs are integrated into the academic functions of the department.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
- Assist Head Nurse in day to day management of the Inpatient area
- Teach and mentor new staff of the area.
- Response quickly and appropriately in conflict or crisis situation in patient care area.
- Assess, interpretate, to early warning sign.
- Ensure that quality care is delivered to patients.
- Meet consultants frequently to discuss patient care related issues.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance quality of patient care.
- Assess patient care and acuity trends, plan and manage unit and staffing, and ensure availability of supplies, equipment and other resources.
- Demonstrate initiatives to review concepts of Quality Improvement in Nursing Practice (QINP).
Requirements:
You should have:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school with a valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
- at least three years of related nursing experience
- certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Safe Medication Administration, Aseptic Techniques, I/V Cannulation, Tool Training and Facilitation course
- excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills
- willingness to work in shift duties (morning, evening and night).
