We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in infrastructure automation and deployment, who will take ownership of infrastructure cost optimization, vendor evaluation, and resource documentation. The ideal candidate will not only be responsible for typical DevOps responsibilities like CI/CD management, cloud deployments, and automation, but will also serve as the key person for tracking server rates, discount programs, monitoring utilization, and ensuring optimal utilization of our infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze cloud service provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) pricing models, rate changes, discount programs (e.g., committed use discounts, spot pricing).
- Track and document infrastructure costs, utilization metrics, and cost-saving opportunities across all environments (dev, staging, production).
- Maintain a centralized, updated infrastructure inventory (servers, networking gear, licenses, cloud resources, etc.).
- Work closely with finance and procurement teams for budgeting, vendor negotiations, and invoicing clarity.
- Recommend rightsizing and reallocation based on usage patterns and forecasting.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions for application delivery.
- Deploy and manage microservices-based applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor application and system performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Ensure security, compliance, and availability across all systems and environments.
- Collaborate with development, security, and SRE teams to enforce DevOps best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering role.
- Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management).
- Familiarity with cloud procurement models (reserved instances, savings plans, spot instances).
- Strong understanding of infrastructure monitoring, cost tracking, and utilization reporting.
- Proven expertise in IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, etc.).
- Containerization and orchestration knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
