We are looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to teach students in Grades 5 to 8. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language, a commitment to inclusive education, and the ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences. Prior experience working in low-resource or underserved communities is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English language and literature, including reading, writing, grammar, speaking, and comprehension.
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
- Foster a love for reading and communication among students through creative activities and projects.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to guide improvement.
- Modify teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs and language levels.
- Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and holistic student development.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and community engagement activities.
- Maintain records of attendance, grades, and student behavior as per school policy.
- Uphold the values and mission of the NGO in every aspect of your teaching and mentorship.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching certification or diploma in education (B.Ed. or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with middle school students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
