The Division:
Friedman Corporation develops enterprise computing solutions for the discrete To-Order Manufacturer. Friedman's advanced multi-platform technology and modular application design support customized enterprise-wide solutions to meet the unique requirements of the to-order manufacturer.

The Position:
The division is looking for a Junior Software Developer with a good Java programming skillset and able to work as an IBM i Java developer with knowledge of the processes involved in detailed analysis, estimating, designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining RPGLE business applications. This position requires strong collaboration skills when working with business analysts to understand and translate business processes and requirements into documented technical requirements. Professionalism, strong analytical, organization /prioritization, oral, and written communications skills are required.

Job Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strong development expertise for Java-based applications using IBM Rational Application Developer.
• Produce on-time deliverables with minimal rework and reported issues.
• Able to learn maintenance of server infrastructure on Windows.
• Develop RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange between frontend and backend systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to best practices.
• Able to contribute to the enhancement of code quality.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve software defects and issues.
• Ability to design and implement data models using IBM DB2 and PostgreSQL databases.
• Utilize Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in software development.

Essential Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in Java development, with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming principles.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Java.
• Advanced proficiency in developing web applications using Java.
• Proficient in utilizing SVN for version control.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Communication Skillset:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow through the troubleshooting process from start to finish, including communication with the customer and internal teams
