Job Title: Looker Developer (Enterprise BI)

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Looker Developer with experience in enterprise-level BI development, data modeling using LookML, and Git-based version control. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and optimizing dashboards, implementing secure and scalable data models, and using advanced LookML features to support business intelligence needs.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights while maintaining best practices in performance, security, and code collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Dashboard Development & Optimization
- Design and develop scalable and interactive Looker dashboards tailored to business requirements.
- Optimize dashboard performance by implementing efficient filtering logic, aggregate awareness, and modular explore structures.
- Ensure visual consistency and usability aligned with UX standards and business KPIs.
Data Modeling with LookML
- Develop and maintain robust LookML models including views, explores, and derived tables (PDTs).
- Implement persistent derived tables (PDTs) for performance optimization in large datasets.
- Leverage datagroups to control data freshness and query rebuild logic.
- Follow modular, reusable, and maintainable coding practices in LookML.
Row-Level Security & Access Control
- Implement row-level security using access filters or user attributes to ensure data privacy and compliance.
- Configure permission modeling to align data access with user roles across departments or business units.
Version Control & Collaboration
- Manage LookML projects using GitLab, maintaining clean branching workflows (feature branches, pull/merge requests, code reviews).
- Collaborate with BI developers and analysts to integrate new features and resolve merge conflicts.
- Conduct peer code reviews and maintain versioning best practices in a multi-developer environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics with a focus on Looker.
- Strong command of LookML, Looker Explore layer, and custom measure/dimension creation.
- Experience with PDTs, datagroups, and row-level security in enterprise BI environments.
- Familiarity with Git-based branching, merge requests, and version control workflows.
- Proficiency in SQL (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar).
- Comfortable working in agile development environments and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)
- Exposure to data governance and data quality practices.
- Knowledge of Looker API and embedding solutions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for BI projects is a plus.

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs200,000.00 per month
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
