Job Summary:
We are hiring an experienced Medical Lab Billing Manager to oversee the complete billing cycle for a US-based medical laboratory. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of lab billing, CPT/ICD coding, insurance guidelines (especially Texas), and full Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). The role requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to manage a billing team and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end lab billing process, including patient billing, insurance claims, payment posting, AR follow-ups, and denials.
- Supervise and guide billing staff on day-to-day operations and ensure adherence to US billing guidelines.
- Oversee timely and accurate submission of insurance claims (CMS-1500/837P).
- Review and resolve denials, rejections, underpayments, and appeals.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and Texas-specific insurance regulations.
- Maintain and monitor billing KPIs: claim acceptance rate, days in AR, denial rates, collections, etc.
- Collaborate with the front-end data entry team, providers, and sales team to address billing issues.
- Keep updated with CPT, ICD-10, and payer policy changes affecting lab billing.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure documentation accuracy and billing compliance.
- Train new billing staff and provide continuous improvement coaching.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in US medical lab billing, with at least 1–2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Deep understanding of RCM processes in the laboratory domain.
- Excellent knowledge of Texas insurance billing guidelines.
- Proficient in billing software and clearinghouses (e.g., Kareo, Office Ally, Availity).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for AR and denial management.
- Ability to lead and motivate a billing team under deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Must be willing to work night shifts aligned with US business hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with molecular, toxicology, blood, or PGx lab billing.
- Familiarity with payer portals and prior authorization processes.
- Certification in Medical Billing & Coding or RCM (preferred but not required).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Rs200,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month
