We're looking for a skilled QA Engineer to ensure the accuracy and integrity of Power BI reports and data pipelines across Azure platforms. This role involves validating data transformations, KPIs, and ETL processes, working closely with engineering and business teams to support high-quality analytics delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test cases for Power BI reports, ensuring KPI calculations align with business rules.
- Perform manual testing by validating front-end reports against backend data (Azure Data Lake, Databricks, SQL).
- Verify data transformations, aggregations, and business rules applied within Databricks and Power BI models.
- Perform ETL/data pipeline validation in Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
- Work closely with data engineers and business analysts to understand requirements and test scenarios.
- Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating with teams for resolution.
- Validate data extracted from SAP ECC and S/4HANA, ensuring consistency with downstream reports.
- Automate test cases where applicable (SQL queries, Python, or BI test automation tools).
- Support UAT by working with business users to validate report accuracy.
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of experience in BI/Data Analytics QA.
- Working knowledge of Power BI (DAX, data models, and report validation).
- Hands-on experience in SQL for backend data validation.
- Experience with Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory for data validation.
- Experience in manual and automated testing for data pipelines and reports.
- Familiarity with data profiling, ETL validation, and KPI rule testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps/JIRA for test case management and defect tracking.
- Prior experience in retail or manufacturing analytics is a plus.
- Experience with automated data quality checks using Great Expectations, dbt, or similar tools is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools is a plus
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Selenium is a plus.
