To drive the successful transformation of the business in becoming a world-class sourcing organization by supporting the management of the company's testing protocol, testing procedures and transparency, labeling requirements, and reporting systems for an assigned product category. The Senior Product Testing Specialist plays a key role in safeguarding the quality, safety, and compliance of apparel products by managing testing protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk prevention strategies. This position ensures all products meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements, including CPSIA and RSL, through robust testing, analysis, and collaboration with third-party laboratories and internal stakeholders
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
- Conduct annual reviews of testing protocols and matrices to ensure relevance, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory (e.g., CPSIA) and non-regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and maintenance of test requirements and control processes, including those related to Restricted Substances Lists (RSL).
- Complete detailed and timely reports and analyses of product testing results to identify compliance status and quality trends.
- Investigate test failures and quality call out, initiating appropriate corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Manage and enhance business relationships with third-party testing laboratories; assess service performance and provide feedback for continual improvement.
- Identify and evaluate product testing risks and implement proactive solutions to mitigate potential quality or safety issues.
- Maintain and update the Product Safety Manual to reflect current regulatory standards, testing protocols, and company procedures.
- Serve as a point of contact for product integrity-related inquiries from vendors and internal stakeholders, providing clear and accurate guidance.
- Analyze testing performance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for quality and compliance improvements.
- Ensure vendors and suppliers execute product testing in accordance with company protocols and testing requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and cross-functional teams to support product quality improvement initiatives and corrective action plans.
- Guide cross-functional teams (CFTs) and global stakeholders in implementing new compliance regulations, product integrity projects, and initiatives for emerging markets.
- Participate in and support ad-hoc assignments and special projects as required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Textile, Fashion, Clothing Technology, or equivalent
- Tertiary educational qualification in Textile, Clothing, or relevant discipline (chemical knowledge preferred)
- Solid familiarity with international safety standards including CPSIA, CSPA, China GB, etc.
- 3 years of experience in product safety audit, compliance, product testing, or inspection for children’s products.
- Ability to quickly identify production or product safety problem areas and quickly recommend solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Great command of both verbal and written English
- Possess strong presentation and communication skills
- Possess a strong attention to detail and time management
