Responsibilities:
- Edit and produce visually compelling video content using 2D mobile game footage for a wide range of purposes including user acquisition ads, promotional trailers, app store previews, social media campaigns, and in-game marketing.
- Work with raw gameplay recordings and creatively cut, enhance, and stylize footage to effectively showcase gameplay, mechanics, characters, and features.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, marketers, and artists to understand the core game experience and translate it into impactful video stories.
- Create and apply 2D motion graphics, transitions, UI animations, dynamic text elements, and effects that align with the tone and art direction of the game.
- Adapt video content into multiple aspect ratios and optimize quality for each target platform including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google Play, and Apple App Store.
- Handle audio layering such as background music, sound effects, and voiceovers to support and enhance the visual storytelling in each video.
- Edit high-performing ad creatives for A/B testing, analyze performance data with the marketing team, and iterate video concepts based on feedback and results.
- Ensure consistency in brand tone, video style, and messaging across different game titles and campaigns.
- Maintain an organized file management system for project files, raw footage, source materials, and final assets, ensuring seamless collaboration with other team members.
- Research and stay updated on trends in video ads, 2D mobile games, and short-form content in the gaming industry to keep creative output fresh and competitive.
- Take creative ownership of video projects from concept to final delivery while managing multiple timelines and priorities.
- Contribute new ideas to elevate visual storytelling and experiment with innovative techniques for user engagement and retention through video.
Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience in video editing, ideally within the gaming industry or in the production of mobile app content.
- Proven experience editing trailers, gameplays, promotional content, or ads for 2D mobile games with a strong and relevant showreel or portfolio.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite – especially Premiere Pro and After Effects. Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition is a plus.
- Strong understanding of editing techniques for mobile-first content, including pacing, screen composition, and storytelling within short durations.
- Proficient in creating and animating 2D assets, including text, logos, and UI elements to enhance visual appeal and gameplay clarity.
