Job Description:
To plan and lead interactive, culturally sensitive sessions on gender-based violence (GBV), early marriage, and life skills for women and girls; provide confidential support and referrals for survivors; and promote awareness, advocacy, and community engagement to foster protective social norms.
Main Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Facilitation:
- Plan and conduct regular interactive sessions with women and girls on GBV, early marriage, and life skills.
- Develop engaging and culturally appropriate session content using participatory approaches.
Case Management & Support:
- Identify and refer cases of GBV survivors to relevant support services while ensuring confidentiality and safety.
Awareness & Advocacy:
- Create awareness on existing laws and protection mechanisms related to GBV and child marriage.
- Engage the community to promote positive social norms that protect women and girls.
- Assist in organizing events, advocacy campaigns, and community outreach activities.
Reporting:
- Maintain records of sessions, attendance, and feedback from participants for reporting purposes.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with WGFS staff and the project team to ensure smooth implementation of activities
- Carry out any other task assigned by the supervisor
Job Requiremnets:
- Master preferably Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Experience in conducting awareness sessions, trainings, and community meetings on GBV, mental health, and available support mechanisms
- Experience in case management, referrals, and psychosocial support.
- Participate in professional development training as identified and approved by the Supervisor
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in psychosocial support, mental health, GBV-related projects, or community-based interventions in the public, private, or humanitarian sector
- Willingness to work in field settings and travel as required
