The Department of Oncology offers comprehensive cancer care services to all patients. The services are provided through multidisciplinary teams. Infrastructure facilities include a daycare setting dedicated to oncology patients. Outpatient facilities include clinics of Medical, Paediatric and Radiation Oncology, Hematology, and Palliative Care.
Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Fellow Medical Officer, Paediatric Neuro Oncology, Department of Oncology.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
- look after children with brain tumors both inpatient and outpatient. Specific responsibilities include:
- look after all Paediatric Neuro-Oncology patients at outpatient clinic admitted in ward on daily basis
- assessment of patient before chemotherapy
- enter chemotherapeutics in accordance with consultants advice
- assessment of patient during chemotherapy administration
- prescribe post-chemotherapy medication
- participate in outpatient clinics and patient management under supervision of an attending physician
- ensure proper documentation in medical record and record keeping
- administer and monitor cytotoxic chemotherapy, blood and blood products transfusions in paediatrics patient
- collaborate with Paediatric and neurosurgery resents for treatment of brain tumors
- coordinate Neuro-oncology tumor boards.
Requirements
You should have:
- MBBS Degree with FCPS/MCPS Paediatric with preferably Paediatric Haemotology/Oncology experience
- ability to obtain history, physical examination and interpret laboratory data
- excellent clinical skills
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work in teams and independently
- ability to deal with common oncological emergencies
