- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or certification in fuel operations, logistics, or heavy vehicle operation is preferred
- 2–3 years of experience operating heavy vehicles or mobile fuel bowsers in mining, construction, or remote site environments.
- Practical experience in fuel handling, vehicle refuelling, and field-based fuel dispensing operations.
- Valid Heavy Vehicle (HV) License is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of safe fuel handling procedures and use of fuel dispensing equipment.
- Ability to perform pre-start inspections and operate pumps, meters, and hoses safely.
- Familiarity with maintaining manual or digital fuel logs and fuel issuing documentation.
- Awareness of traffic safety, roadworthiness standards, and emergency response procedures.
- Physically fit and able to work extended hours outdoors in demanding environmental conditions.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and accountable in field operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
- Willingness to participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and scheduled HSE trainings.
- Operate and drive mobile fuel bowsers (typically 4,000L capacity) to and from field locations as scheduled.
- Dispense fuel to heavy machinery, site vehicles, and generators in compliance with dispatch requirements.
- Accurately measure and document all fuel issued using logs or digital systems.
- Conduct pre-start and daily inspections of the fuel bowser to ensure safety and readiness.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the fuel truck and its dispensing system.
- Assist in refuelling the bowser from the main depot as needed.
- Monitor fuel consumption and immediately report anomalies, suspected loss, or theft.
- Ensure compliance with company fuel handling procedures, site rules, and PPE requirements.
- Participate in HSE activities including toolbox meetings, drills, and safety training.
- Report incidents, malfunctions, or leaks to the Fuel Depot Supervisor without delay.
- Support audits and stock reconciliations by providing accurate usage records.
- Perform other fuel-related tasks as reasonably assigned.
