Incumbent is expected to coordinate climate risk (physical and transition risk) integration of group wide climate risk framework into existing functions across the bank in line with regulatory principles and guidelines.
- Development, maintenance and implementation of group wide climate risk policy for management of climate related financial risks at Mashreq.
- Development of climate risk appetite related qualitative and quantitative metrics, concepts and contribute to group wise level 1 risk appetite statement
- Coordinate the development and reporting of physical and transition risk related profiles for various risk management committees and forums.
- Representation of climate risk across various ESG related committees of the bank e.g. IBG ESG committee, ESGC etc.
- Coordinate the implementation plans for various climate risk related regulatory guidelines and associated regulatory submissions e.g. CB UAE climate risk principles
- Coordinate the development of climate risk-related training materials for periodic training of staff, senior management and board executives.
- Supporting the development and enhancement of various disclosures like ESG Reporting, TCFD, ISSB, IFRS S1 and S2, Pilar 3 from climate related financial risks inputs.
- Supporting enterprise risk management team for Climate Risk Analytics, e.g. Physical and Transition risk related model development, Stress Testing, ICAAP etc.
- Graduate in Risk Management / Economic/ Financial discipline.
- Professional risk management certifications related to climate risk or ESG like SCR/FRM/CFA is a must.
- At least five year of experience in a similar discipline with a complex multinational financial institution is a must.
- Experienced in implementation of risk management concepts of IFRS 9, RWA, ECL, Risk Appetite metrics, Stress Testing, Green ratio etc.
