Research Associate, Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research

Research at AKU-CRM is focused on understanding the biology of diseases and developing economically viable and novel therapies and diagnostic kits. The Centre has an integrated hub and spoke research programme with inter-linked subject areas.
This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Responsibilities:You will be responsible to:
- conduct experiments in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine under faculty guidance
- maintain detailed records of laboratory protocols, data and inventory
- collaborate on research projects, including data analysis and manuscript preparation
- participate in weekly lab meetings, journal clubs and seminars
- ensure compliance with laboratory safety and ethical standards.
Requirements:
You should have:
- master’s degree in biological sciences, molecular biology or related fields, with at least two years of hands-on experience in a research laboratory
- experience in stem cell culture (e.g., iPSC maintenance, differentiation protocols)
- proficiency in molecular techniques (gene editing, cloning, real-time PCR)
- familiarity with cell biology methods (tissue culture, fluorescent/confocal microscopy, flow cytometry)
- strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks
- fluency in English (written and spoken)
- competency in Microsoft Office, statistical software and imaging tools.
