Job Purpose:
The Social Mobilizer will be responsible for community engagement, awareness-raising, and mobilization to support flood-affected communities. The role involves coordinating with local stakeholders, conducting needs assessments, and ensuring effective communication of project activities to beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Community Mobilization & Engagement
- Conduct door-to-door visits, community meetings, and focus group discussions with flood-affected populations.
- Identify vulnerable groups (women, children, elderly, persons with disabilities) for targeted assistance.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local leaders, elders, and government officials.
2. Awareness & Behavior Change Campaigns
- Organize sessions on disaster preparedness, hygiene promotion (WASH), and early recovery.
- Distribute Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials (posters, leaflets) in local languages (Pashto/Urdu).
- Use community-based approaches to encourage participation in relief and rehabilitation activities.
3. Data Collection & Reporting
- Conduct rapid needs assessments and submit reports to supervisors.
- Maintain records of beneficiary lists, grievances, and feedback.
- Assist in post-distribution monitoring (PDM) of relief items (food, NFIs, shelter kits).
4. Coordination & Liaison
- Work closely with local authorities, NGOs disaster affected areas.
- Support field teams in site selection, beneficiary registration, and verification.
5. Monitoring & Compliance
- Ensure project activities align with humanitarian principles (Do No Harm, impartiality).
- Report any protection concerns, gender-based violence (GBV), or child safeguarding issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Minimum Intermediate (FA/FSc); preference for Bachelor’s in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field.
- Experience: At least 1-2 years in community mobilization (preferably in emergency response, WASH, or DRR).
- Skills:
- Fluency in Pashto (required) and Urdu (essential). Basic English is a plus.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in remote, flood-affected areas with limited facilities.

Working Conditions:
- Field-based role with extensive travel within Buner.
- May require working beyond normal hours during emergencies.
