Summary
The Staff Accountant works to prepare monthly financial statements on time and to convey this information to management teams in a meaningful format. Collaborates with other departments to assist with budget compliance and financial responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Book credit card entries as required and complete monthly bank reconciliation reports.
- Prepare entries to record EPC and MIPA milestone payments.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and clean up any variances.
- Maintain long-term debt schedules, including short-term and long-term debt calculations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and book monthly depreciation entries.
- Maintain prepaid expense schedules and book monthly adjustments.
- Assist with cash forecasting as required.
- Assist with WIP and POC calculations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements including journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidated reports.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting packages for consolidated financial statements and joint venture partners.
- Prepare and Review reports for construction projects and project costing accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting of budget variances to respective departments.
- Assist in the preparation for, and facilitating, the actual annual audit.
- Assist with tax reporting on an annual basis.
- Manage inventory accounting.
- Develop and maintain internal controls.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting/operations software.
- Support the overall Finance and Accounting function with ad hoc reporting and projects, as needed.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position: Monday through Friday, with regularly scheduled hours in Central Standard Time.

No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- Experience with NetSuite
- BS/BA in Accounting
- Proven knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Solid understanding of all accounting department processes
- Ability to communicate professionally in a verbal or written manner
- Exceptional attention to detail
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with Viewpoint by Vista or Microsoft Dynamics
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software
