Job Purpose
As a member of the operational engineering team, purpose of Assistant Manager Utilities job is to ensure the operation and maintenance (include water & steam systems, HVAC, Compressed Air, Projects etc.) of activities at their respective area are secured for uninterrupted operation / perform maintenance on timely manner. They also Ensure the QMS, GMP and EHS compliances, and process improvements project and to Manage the departmental finance.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s in engineering is required for this role.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Leadership and team development to enhance performance and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Planning & Executions
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of conventional and clean utilities and water systems (PW, WFI, RO, PS, and Waste Water)
- To ensure that PM of Utilities is performed as per the annual PM plan in CMMS.
- To ensure that critical spare parts are available to support continues supply of utilities and to prevent any major breakdown.
- Correspond with procurement and venders for fabrication, upgrading and spare parts purchase.
- Statutory & Regulatory compliance of all utilities (including Boilers and pressurized systems).
- To ensure that all operational logs are maintained and managed by concern supervisors
- To performed GES and GQP gap analysis
- To raise deviations, change controls and risks and to track actions in VEEVA
- To support project team for executions of projects related to utilities functions
- To ensure that EHS protocols and permits are followed during maintenance of related activities
- To ensure instruments calibration related to utilities function is performed as per the site SOP
- Ensure that utilities related systems are maintained within their validated Parameters to achieve consistent quality and reliability.
2. Strategic Planning
- Contribute to the ongoing development of colleagues
- Provide useful inputs in planning the capacity and forecasting the utilization
- Apply new technology as a driving force for process simplification, economical and Effective payback times.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnosing problems
3. Compliance and Procedural Implementations
- Ensure adequate selection, training and development of staff to achieve their maximum potential to meet business objective.
- User performance development plans effectively for better performance and development of teams.
- Ensure that requirements of TP-13 are fulfilled in the concerned area.
- Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedure so that engineering activities are operated safely, support production, and comply with Group and Local regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and Safety regulations and practices applicable to this position.
- Ensure compliance with Global GSK policies and procedures comprising of GMP, ETCM, TPs, BCP, EHS, GQP and QMS policies.
