Key Responsibilities
- Manage the credit control function across a portfolio of international clients, primarily in the UK, Canada, and the USA.
- Proactively monitor customer accounts and chase overdue payments via phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Perform credit checks on new and existing clients using approved credit referencing tools.
- Set and review credit limits in accordance with company policy and client risk profiles.
- Resolve billing issues and disputes efficiently to ensure timely collections and maintain positive client relationships.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of communications, payment status, and credit terms.
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, operations, and legal to support collection efforts.
- Prepare regular reports on aged debt, cash collection performance, and credit risk exposure for management review.
- Recommend accounts for escalation, legal action, or write-off based on company policies.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role.
- Previous experience working with clients in the UK, Canada, or the USA is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English—professional and confident communicator.
- Strong understanding of credit risk, invoicing, and collection processes.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar ERP systems).
- High attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive client relationships with diplomacy and persistence.
