We are looking for a talented Developer/Analyst to join our internal Data Engineering team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining ETL pipelines, integrating third-party data sources, and supporting downstream reporting, business intelligence, and engineering efforts. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience, strong programming and SQL skills, and familiarity with cloud data warehouses and orchestration tools.
You’ll join our internal Data Services, Reporting, and Technical Operations team, partnering closely with engineers, analysts, and product owners to:
- Build and maintain robust ETL pipelines
- Monitor data health and troubleshoot issues
- Integrate third-party data sources and APIs
- Support downstream reporting, BI, and engineering initiatives
This is a hands-on role—while you won’t be asked to lead architecture, you should understand core concepts and patterns across modern stacks (Python, PHP, frameworks, databases, and cloud technologies).
Key Responsibilities
ETL & Data Integration
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) jobs using Python or equivalent languages
- Connect to APIs and external data sources, handling schema drift, error management, and retries
- Implement orchestration tools to schedule, monitor, and ensure the reliability of data pipelines
Data Monitoring & Management
- Build alerts and dashboards to proactively detect pipeline failures or data anomalies
- Automate data quality checks and implement remediation workflows for improved data integrity
Database & Warehouse Support
- Optimize database schemas and write efficient SQL queries for Postgres, MongoDB, or similar databases
- Load and query large datasets in cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or equivalent
Reporting & BI Enablement
- Collaborate with analysts to translate reporting requirements into scalable data models and queries
- Provide technical support for BI tools such as Looker Studio or equivalent platforms
Developer & Systems Support
- Partner with product and engineering teams to integrate data services into internal and client-facing systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in staging and production environments
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional experience in a software or data role
- Solid coding skills in Python or another major language (PHP, JavaScript, etc.)
- Strong SQL expertise; experience with Postgres, MongoDB, or similar
- Hands-on with ETL/data integration—APIs, data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration concepts
- Familiarity with ETL orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow or equivalent)
- Familiarity with a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.)
- Comfortable in a Linux environment and using CI/CD pipelines
- Clear communicator who can work across technical and non-technical teams
- Proven experience collaborating within remote or distributed teams
- Skilled in Agile software development life cycles (SDLC), including sprint planning and retrospectives.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience in PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony) or Python frameworks (Django, Flask)
- BI/dashboarding tools (Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI)
- Exposure to data-quality frameworks (Great Expectations, dbt)
- Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and tooling (e.g., basic model training, inference pipelines, or experience integrating LLMs/expert systems)
- Prior work in eCommerce or marketplace analytics

Application Question(s):
- Which programming languages are you most comfortable with?
- How would you rate your SQL skills on a scale from 1–10? What types of queries do you typically write?
- Which databases have you worked with (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB)? What types of data were you managing?
- Have you used any ETL orchestration tools like Apache Airflow?
- What cloud data warehouse platforms have you used (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.)?
- How comfortable are you working in a Linux environment? Have you used CI/CD pipelines?
- Do you have a prior work in eCommerce or marketplace analytics?
- When is the soonest you can join us?
- What is your salary expectation?
