The Aga Khan University aims to establish a Centre of Excellence for Ageing Gracefully. The objective of this initiative is to maintain the health and vitality of aging people living at home and within the community. Through providing training sessions to health care providers (HCPs) the purpose is to develop the capacity of HCPs to reach and engage with elderly populations, reducing loneliness amongst the ageing population, ensuring maintenance of a healthy lifestyle and services required at the primary health care settings.
This is a part-time, grant-funded contractual position for a period of three years.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
- develop comprehensive training programs for different health care cadre (Physicians, LHV, HCA, RN and RM) tailored to the needs of elderly care providers
- prepare lesson plans and effective training modules that incorporate best practices and evidence-based approaches in elderly care
- conduct training sessions and workshops for various stakeholders by utilizing various blended teaching learning pedagogies to ensure effective learning
- use technologies to develop teaching learning sessions and assessment such as Virtual learning Environment (VLE), H5P, AI tools
- conduct module exams and skill assessments and analyze participant feedback to enhance future training sessions
- prepare schedules and arrange logistics for theoretical and practical teaching sessions, ensuring timely communication to all stakeholders
- facilitate students on eLearning by providing guidance, support, and resources to ensure effective online teaching and learning experiences
- mentor the trained healthcare professionals to enhance their skills by visiting different clinicals site such as AKHSP sites.
- work closely with project managers, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals of capacity building and service delivery
- maintain a track and record of the training sessions completed and present the report to the head of departments
- complete the assignment related to the grant writing and the publications for the project assigned by PI
- contribute to developing mechanisms for research evaluation.
Requirements:
You should have:
- an undergraduate degree in health care disciplines or equivalent. However, a master of science in Nursing from an HEC-recognised or reputable university/institution will be preferred
- at least two years of experience in elderly health care. However, adult teaching along with blended learning is preferred
- ability to demonstrate teaching competence as a professional and serve as an effective role model
- ability to liaise with other team members & stakeholders
- good knowledge of teaching leadership and management
- good teaching skills and knowledge of new teaching methodologies and practices
- should have co-authored at least one research paper in a refereed journal and published at least one other article
- strong conceptual and analytical skills
- strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- strong interpersonal skills
- strong conceptual knowledge of adult teaching and ability to integrate theory into practice
- proficiency in use of computer (MS office)
- good planning and organizing skills.
