Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Assistant with a strong background in personal injury and civil litigation to join our legal team. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of two years of prior paralegal experience, with hands-on involvement in personal injury matters including auto accidents, sexual assaults, wrongful death, slip/trip and fall, and dog bite cases. Familiarity with court procedures, discovery, and trial preparation is essential. Experience handling Minor’s Compromise Petitions is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide litigation and administrative support to attorneys handling a high-volume caseload.
Draft, file, and manage legal documents including complaints, discovery, subpoenas, motions, and trial binders.
Maintain and organize physical and digital case files in compliance with firm procedures.
Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including exhibit management and witness coordination.
Track court deadlines, trial calendars, and filing requirements across various jurisdictions.
Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and court personnel as needed.
Review and summarize medical records, bills, and investigative reports.
Prepare settlement demand packages and support case negotiations.
Assist in preparing and filing Minor’s Compromise Petitions (preferred).
Maintain confidentiality of all case information and client communications.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal or litigation assistant in a personal injury or civil litigation setting.
Strong understanding of state and federal court procedures and deadlines.
Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience preparing and filing Minor’s Compromise Petitions.
Familiarity with medical terminology and record review.
Spanish or other language proficiency.
