This role is responsible for the research, design, and development of innovative financial and agri-commodity products, including spot and futures contracts. The candidate will conduct market and feasibility research, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and support the digitalization and integration of Pakistan’s commodity markets. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, field-level experience (for agri-products), and a sound understanding of domestic and international financial markets and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance spot and futures contracts for both agri and non-agri commodities (e.g., cereals/pulses, oilseeds, energy, metals, currencies, indices, cryptocurrencies).
- Conduct market research, feasibility studies, and field visits (mandis, warehouses, farms, mills) to identify and evaluate product opportunities.
- Prepare concept notes, business cases, and regulatory submissions for new products.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT, and Marketing for end-to-end product development and rollout.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as SECP, SBP, FBR, PAMRA, industry associations, brokers, and institutional clients.
- Structure agri-specific deliverable contracts in consultation with market participants, collateral managers, and logistics partners.
- Engage with farmer groups, exporters, importers, processors, and trade bodies to ensure market-aligned contract design.
- Monitor performance of launched products and recommend enhancements based on data and stakeholder feedback.
- Analyze domestic and global commodity and financial markets to identify trends, regulatory developments, and product ideas.
- Benchmark international exchanges and contribute to the localization of global best practices.
- Support initiatives for digitalization and integration of physical and financial commodity markets in Pakistan.
- Any Other task assigned by the HOD
Education: Preferably Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Experience: 6–8 years of experience in product development, research, or strategy within financial services, capital markets, agri markets, or commodity trading.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, derivatives, and global market structures
- Familiarity with Pakistan’s mandi systems and warehousing networks
- Excellent analytical and field research skills
- Strong coordination, presentation, and communication abilities
