Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager from the dairy or bird feed mill industry to manage domestic procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have 13–16 years of hands-on experience in sourcing raw materials, packaging supplies, and plant consumables in dairy industry. The candidate must be tech-savvy, data-driven, and capable of leveraging procurement tools to streamline operations and ensure cost-effective, timely purchasing.
Key Responsibilities:
· Raw Material Procurement:
Handle end-to-end procurement of raw materials such as milk-based ingredients, cereals, oilseeds, feed additives, and minerals within Pakistan.
· Packaging & Consumables:
Ensure consistent supply of packaging materials (polyfilm, cartons, labels) and plant operational supplies in coordination with production and QA.
· Supplier Management:
Identify, onboard, and manage a reliable vendor base. Build strong supplier relationships while evaluating performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
· Cost Management & Negotiation:
Drive cost-efficiency through effective negotiation, rate contracts, alternate sourcing, and benchmarking.
· Tech-Driven Procurement:
Use ERP (SAP / Oracle / MS Dynamics) and e-procurement platforms for RFQs, purchase orders, tracking, and reporting. Proficiency in Excel and procurement analytics is a must.
· Inventory Coordination:
Work with planning and stores teams to optimize inventory levels and prevent overstocking or stockouts.
· Documentation & Compliance:
Ensure timely documentation (POs, agreements, invoices), maintain audit-ready records, and comply with all internal policies and quality standards.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Liaise with production, QA/QC, finance, and logistics to ensure smooth procurement workflows.
· Market Tracking:
Monitor domestic commodity trends, seasonal cycles, and availability to make proactive buying decisions.
Candidate Profile:
· Educational Qualification:
· Bachelor or MBA (Supply Chain or Operations) preferred.
· Experience Required:
· 16–18 years in domestic procurement within the dairy, animal feed, or food processing industries.
· Technical Skills:
· Strong command of ERP tools (SAP / Oracle / MS Dynamics)
· Knowledge of procurement digital tools / automation solutions
