American Lyceum International School is seeking an experienced and visionary Montessori Department Head to lead our Early Years program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Montessori department, maintaining high teaching standards, mentoring teachers, and fostering a nurturing, child-centered learning environment aligned with the Montessori philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead all Montessori teaching staff, ensuring implementation of best practices.
- Monitor curriculum delivery to maintain quality, consistency, and adherence to Montessori principles.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide feedback to improve instructional techniques.
- Organize and lead teacher training sessions, workshops, and ongoing professional development.
- Collaborate with the academic coordinator and school leadership on curriculum planning and school events.
- Ensure proper setup and maintenance of Montessori materials and classroom environments.
- Evaluate student progress and oversee assessment methods across the Montessori section.
- Meet with parents regarding concerns, development milestones, or placement recommendations.
- Maintain a positive and respectful working environment among teachers and support staff.
- Support admissions and orientation processes for the Montessori section.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Montessori diploma or certification from a recognized institution (AMI, AMS, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years of Montessori teaching experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, practices, and classroom dynamics.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Ability to mentor, guide, and inspire teaching staff.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
