JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Summary:
Coordinate and implement all Health Care Professionals & institutions directed initiatives for various brands. Closely work with various departments for ethical marketing of EPD brands. P&L responsibility of the assigned brands.
Principal Duties:
Brand:
- Actively contribute in the development of long and short-term business and marketing plans for the assigned brands to meet share, volume, HCP coverage, and profit objectives.
- Prepares campaign and tactical plan of assigned products, with complete budgetary and other resource allocation.
- Prepares the sample plan and execute that according to the scheduled agenda.
- Identifies new opportunities in the assigned categories and develop plans for their roll-out.
- Monitors performance of products against plan and carries out changes to the plan if necessary to ensure that targets are achieved.
- Evaluates and recommend product, pricing, promotion, and placement strategies for the assigned brands based on comprehensive analysis of the market.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the ethical marketing budgets of the assigned brands, with quarterly reviews and variance.
- Align and coordinate with all the departments in the implementation of the ethical marketing plans.
- Coordinate with the Sales and other departments to ensure effective planning and implementation of ethical marketing field activities.
- Regular monitoring of competitors’ promotional activities (samples / give-aways / literature etc), pricing, formulations, claims and medical views on the authenticity of claims.
- Conceive / update based on medical ratification the most appropriate product positioning viz a viz market, company’s own products and competition.
- Review stock availability based on latest sales trends and promo strategy /campaign through liaison with MCD/ distribution department.
- Participate in sales force training / refresher course. Generate refresher/re-launch material on need basis.
- In collaboration with the Research Department, discuss and prepare any research required for information relevant to the required.
- Continuously upgrades consumer and customer understanding and insights for effective management of the brand.
- Field visits, with at least 7 days out of town and 4 days of local working per month, with objective of developing relationship with KOLs and verification of the cycle strategies, and their implementation.
Medical Detailing
- Prepare the cycle documents, based on campaigns, and also prepare cycle strategy guides, well in advance to be sent to the field force at least 10-15 days before the commencement of the meeting.
- Ensuring monthly promo strategy, literature, pattern details and objectives and tactics with supporting tools are provided to the field force as per promotional schedule.
- Training field force in the effective handling of promotional material, during the Cycle Meetings, with complete understanding and in line with the campaign.
- All promotional elements to be vetted by the Medical Department.
Analysis & Feedback:
- PKPI for value analysis
- MIP for Rx analysis
- Secondary sales analysis for product movement in different regions
- Keep an eye on competitors activities thru monthly field force reports
- Latest studies on products from databases/internet
Forecasting:
- 24 months rolling forecast through COLLABORATE
- Assumptions
- KPI calculation & tracking through COGNOS
- RCPPs
- RCAs
- ADS & sales monthly commentary
Key Events:
- Liaise with Sales and Medical Department for organizing Symposium and foreign / local speaker programs/Focus groups/ Consultant Panel Discussions, Round Table meetings, ward presentations etc.
Branding:
- Ensuring the HCP directed branding/activities are in line with approved brand architecture, long term givens, and brand plans.
- Responsible for all HCP directed communication/material development in line with brand plans.
Pharmacovigilance Responsibilities:
- To report all spontaneous adverse events related to Abbott products within timelines.
- To get on job induction training with yearly refresher for Pharmacovigilance.
- Liaise with Affiliate Safety Representative (ASR) or back-up ASR or if required with the reporter in case of follow up process.
- Liaise with ASR/back up ASR for identification, selection, agreement and execution with the vendor for marketing research and patient support programs
Knowledge & Experience:
- Worked as Assistant Product Manager in a multinational Pharmaceutical company for for 2-4 years.
- Field Sales experience would be preferred.
- Exposure to ATL & BTL would be added advantage

Minimum Qualifications:
- MBA with science background.
- MBA with MBBS would be preferred.
