Established in December 2020 at Aga Khan University’s Medical College, the CITRIC Health Data Science Center is a dedicated hub for health data science. The Center is driving the transformation of health systems through disease burden estimation, clinical data curation and analysis, AI and health analytics, and public health initiatives. It functions as a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration among medical researchers, clinicians, data scientists, and policymakers; a capacity-building center, hosting workshops and training in health data science and disease modeling; and an innovation hub developing clinical data infrastructure, AI-driven analytics, and digital health tools to address regional health challenges.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
- Supervise the day-to-day execution of research projects, coordinate timelines and deliverables, and track progress using project management tools to ensure timely and effective delivery.
- Lead hiring and onboarding of project staff; provide regular supervision, coaching, and performance feedback; set team goals and monitor productivity to maintain a high-performing team.
- Design and implement SOPs for both project execution and administrative workflows, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and clarity in all operational processes.
- Lead strategic planning, proposal development, and event organization, while remaining responsive to evolving needs as identified by the Principal Investigator or Center leadership.
- Contribute to strategic planning, proposal development, and event organization.
- Integrating ML models into data pipelines, dashboards, or applications to enable real-time or batch decision-making.
- Oversee budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting related to project grants; ensure compliance with donor and institutional financial policies, and support efficient resource allocation and utilization.
- Prepare financial and budget plans in coordination with the finance department; assist the supervisor in ensuring adherence to grant agreements, budget allocations, and agency requirements.
- Support Principal Investigators in study design, tool development, and protocol refinement.
- Contribute to data analysis, interpretation, and drafting of research outputs where possible.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to promote the center’s mission, outcomes, and activities to key stakeholders including funders, partners, academic institutions, community organizations, and the general public.
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation and assisting in the preparation of periodic research and progress reports.
- Act as the primary liaison with internal teams, external partners, donors, and public health stakeholders to ensure effective communication, alignment of goals, and smooth collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage planning and execution of events, including conferences, workshops, and meetings with donors and collaborators.
- Any other task assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Requirements:
You should have:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Health (MPH), Health Policy & Management (HPM), Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science or Health Economics.
- A medical degree (MBBS) is preferred but not required.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in healthcare.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating or managing research projects, preferably in public health, health data science, or related fields.
- Prior experience working with grants, budgeting, compliance, or donor reporting will be considered an asset.
- Proven expertise in project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a track record of meeting deadlines and delivering results.
- Good understanding of public health, data science, or health systems, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, MS Project) and general office software (MS Office Suite); familiarity with data platforms or analytics tools is an asset
- Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs
