Introduction
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

This is a grant funded contractual position
Responsibilities
you will be responsible to:
- conduct Research work as instructed by the Principal Investigator and / or Research Supervisor
- tabulate reports for various tests conducted
- participate regularly in laboratory meetings, departmental research meetings and internal seminars
- update work progress in review meetings.
- prepare laboratory guidelines for writing up research proposals
- keep a record of inventory in the Lab.
- perform Quality Control procedures and data validation
- maintain and safeguard equipment in the Research Lab and stay abreast of techniques and methodologies
- design protocols for lab operation procedure and testing methodologies
- modify existing methods of tests to make them more efficient
- conduct tests and interpret them
- provide results of the tests to the Data Management Unit (DMU) staff
- actively participate in the optimization of new lab tests and methodologies as per project requirement.
- review all Lab results, monitor internal external QC checks of all Lab procedures and CRFS, and take preventive and corrective actions in case of non-conformities
Requirement
You should have:
- M.Sc./M.A/ B.Sc. degree or equivalent
- at least one year of relevant experience
- good knowledge of Molecular Biology techniques, cell culture, ICC, IHC, WB and cloning etc
- knowledge in the field of Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Molecular biology
- good team player
- ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
- good communication and interpersonal Skills
- resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
- good Computer and Report Writing Skills
