Job Roles / Responsibilities:
Are you passionate about cutting-edge medical technology and sustainable healthcare innovations? We are seeking a dynamic Technical Advisor, Biomedical Engineering to join our team and lead the integration of advanced clinical technologies within our smart hospital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior technical member of our team, you will:
- Provide expert advisory support across all biomedical engineering functions, including clinical engineering, technology support, and outreach services.
- Lead integration of medical devices with Building Management Systems (BMS) to enable hospital-wide monitoring and automation.
- Collaborate with Biomedical and IT teams to enable real-time data sharing between clinical systems and BMS.
- Ensure all procured medical technologies are interoperable with Electronic Health Records (EHR) using standards such as HL7, DICOM, and FHIR.
- Evaluate and ensure medical devices comply with cybersecurity protocols, including OS support, VLAN segmentation, and vulnerability assessments.
- Spearhead medical equipment procurement, focusing on scalability, energy efficiency, and compliance with green technology standards.
- Maintain a technology roadmap aligned with hospital sustainability and smart facility transformation goals.
- Oversee UPS connectivity and power backup strategies to maintain redundancy and uptime for critical devices.
- Develop a strategic roadmap for transitioning to IoT-enabled, self-diagnostic, and remotely monitored devices.
- Promote a predictive maintenance culture through smart alert systems and early fault detection strategies.
- Collaborate closely with IT, clinical, facilities, and procurement teams to align integration and compliance strategies.
- Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 80001, FDA, IEC 60601-1, NFPA 99).
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Biomedical/Electronics Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a tertiary healthcare facility.
- OR B.E. in Biomedical/Electronics Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Additional Master’s degree in Business Administration.
- Certifications and Skills:
- Certification in Project Management or demonstrated experience in executing large-scale biomedical projects.
- Proficient in managing high-end medical systems and modalities.
- Knowledge of JCI and CAP standards; certifications in radiation, laser safety, or related quality/safety domains.
- Strong understanding of clinical device operations, safety protocols, and maintenance workflows.
