Job Description
- Develop & implement governance frameworks
- Design enterprise-wide data governance strategies, policies, and procedures (including standards for data quality, lineage, stewardship, and metadata)
- Define roles & stewardship structures
- Expertise in tools such as Informatica Axon, Collibra, Azure Purview, and Alation to drive metadata management, lineage, and stewardship.
- Proven ability to align governance strategies with platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure Synapse, embedding governance into Agile and CI/CD workflows
Establish and manage roles (e.g., data owners, stewards) and facilitate governance councils or committees
- Ensure data quality & protection
Monitor data accuracy, completeness, and consistency; implement controls, profiling, and remediation routines .Enforce policies aligned with regulations like GDPR, CCPA, SOX, and HIPAA; conduct audits to maintain compliance .Educate teams across the organization on governance practices through workshops, documentation, and training .Work with IT and platform teams to embed metadata, lineage, and governance rules into data systems and toolsDefine and track governance KPIs, report on initiatives, and recommend improvements .In larger organizations, oversee Data Governance Officers or stewards—handling hiring, mentoring, performance, and assigning oversight dutiesRequired Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
