American Lyceum International School is looking for a passionate and experienced English Teacher for the Middle Section (Grades 6–8). The ideal candidate will be confident in teaching grammar, literature, and writing skills, while creating an engaging, supportive, and disciplined classroom environment. The teacher should be able to inspire students to think critically, express themselves effectively, and develop a lifelong love for reading and writing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver well-structured English lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Teach English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, creative writing, and literature.
- Encourage reading habits through literary analysis, book discussions, and assignments.
- Design and assess classwork, homework, quizzes, and examinations.
- Provide individualized support and differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Maintain class discipline and a respectful learning environment.
- Communicate student progress to parents regularly through meetings and written reports.
- Participate in school events, co-curricular activities, and professional development workshops.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and school-wide programs.
- Maintain proper documentation of student work, lesson plans, and assessments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years of teaching experience at the middle school level.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with international or Cambridge/IGCSE standards (preferred but not required).
- Passion for literature, language development, and working with adolescents.
- Competency with educational tools and technology (e.g., Google Classroom, MS Office, etc.).
