Job Summary
The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the restaurant floor, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining quality and safety standards, and managing staff performance during shifts. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management:
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations on the restaurant floor.
- Ensure smooth and efficient workflows during peak hours.
- Monitor order accuracy, food quality, and presentation.
- Customer Service:
- Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a welcoming and friendly dining environment.
- Gather customer feedback and implement improvements as needed.
- Staff Supervision:
- Schedule and allocate tasks for floor staff.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate daily goals and updates.
- Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and address any behavioral issues.
- Inventory and Supplies:
- Ensure adequate stock levels of supplies on the floor (e.g., condiments, utensils, napkins).
- Report shortages or damages to the inventory manager.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Enforce hygiene and safety standards on the floor.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure compliance with local food safety regulations.
- Reporting:
- Provide feedback and reports to the Restaurant Manager on shift performance.
- Document and address incidents, customer complaints, or equipment issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (a diploma in hospitality management is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role within the fast food or restaurant industry.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in handling customer complaints and conflict resolution.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and health regulations.
