Job Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the Profit & Loss and overall operations of the department. This role involves overseeing existing business, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring efficient and productive operations preferably from the same industry (freight forwarding).
Key Responsibilities:
- Profit & Loss Management: Own and manage the Profit & Loss of the department.
- Business Development: Monitor existing business and develop new business opportunities in the market.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee business development and daily operational activities at the country level.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies based on market conditions to maximize revenue efficiently and productively.
- KPI Monitoring: Develop departmental KPIs and monitor progress to achieve desired KPI results and performance.
- Client Relations: Maintain relationships with clients through joint visits with Sales Representatives to better understand their requirements and desired services.
- International Coordination: Liaise with overseas offices/agents to secure new business and provide excellent service to existing customers.
- Inter-office Coordination: Ensure effective communication and working relationships between all offices in Pakistan.
- Financial Oversight: Liaise with the Finance department to monitor and implement credit limit applications and ensure timely recoveries from shippers/consignee .
- Stakeholder Relationships: Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders in client companies, ensuring proactive and timely resolution of customer issues and maintaining positive working relationships.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in air logistics or import management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and import documentation.
Skills required:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
