- Define and drive the technical vision and architecture for Kabayan Remit’s platform.

Oversee the design and development of backend services built with PHP (Laravel) and Python.
- Ensure high standards in API architecture, security, and system scalability.
- Lead efforts to optimise MySQL/MongoDB and Redis databases for performance and reliability.
- Manage integrations with payment gateways and financial institutions.

Collaborate closely with Product, Compliance, and Operations teams to align technical solutions
with business goals.

Guide and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous
improvement.
- Establish and enforce secure coding practices and compliance with financial regulations (e.g. PCI
DSS, GDPR).
- Drive DevOps initiatives, improving CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Oversee monitoring, incident management, and system reliability processes.
Requirements
Technical Leadership-
8+ years of experience in backend engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or
management role.
- Deep expertise in PHP (Laravel) and Python development.

Strong experience in designing and scaling RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Advanced knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Proven experience with AWS cloud services, infrastructure, and cost optimisation.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment pipelines.

Excellent understanding of secure coding and compliance in financial services
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
