Job Title: Laravel Backend Engineer

About The Role:
We are hiring a Laravel Backend Engineer who will help build and optimize the application layer of Z360. You will work primarily with Laravel, integrating seamlessly with our existing React and TypeScript frontend via Inertia 2.0.
You’ll work inside Z360’s existing Laravel codebase—reading, refactoring, and building new backend features. You’ll connect it with our React frontend via Inertia 2.0, manage APIs, and help ship production code using modern tools like Cursor.
If you’re comfortable working independently, can take ownership of backend tasks, and want to grow fast, this role’s for you. Strong programming fundamentals and a good project portfolio matter more to us than formal experience.
This is a full-time, fully remote position, and we are hiring urgently.
What You Will Work On
- Understand and work within Z360’s existing Laravel codebase
- Write clean, modular, and efficient Laravel code for backend services
- Refactor and optimize existing modules for performance and maintainability
- Design and build RESTful APIs and application logic
- Integrate backend services with React + TypeScript frontend via Inertia 2.0
- Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and AI engineering teams
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and improve coding standards
- Use tools like Docker and AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor) to enhance productivity
- Take ownership of assigned modules and drive them to completion
- Document work clearly for future development and team collaboration
RequirementsMust-Have Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of professional experience working with Laravel
- Strong understanding of PHP, Laravel ecosystem, packages, and modern best practices
- Experience working with existing codebases, including reading, understanding, and improving code
- Proficiency in backend API development and database management (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with Inertia 2.0 for integrating Laravel with React-based frontends
- Understanding of REST API design principles
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows
- Basic experience with Linux-based development environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
