To manage and develop back-end functionality for client on Shopify store, with a
focus on integrating third-party apps and services, handling API communication, and
maintaining high performance and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and configure back-end elements of Shopify themes using Liquid.
- Support metafield data structures and logic as needed for dynamic content.
- Integrate and configure third-party Shopify apps (e.g. Klaviyo, Yotpo, ReCharge, Loop Returns, etc.).
- Develop and manage custom app integrations via Shopify’s Admin, Storefront
- Handle secure transmission of customer, product, and order data across systems (e.g. CRM, ERP).
- Create automated workflows and webhooks for real-time data synchronisation.
- Improve backend performance and reduce latency in API calls.
- Support implementation of structured data and SEO-compatible architecture.
- Troubleshoot Liquid errors, app conflicts, and server-side performance bottlenecks.
- Maintain Git version control and detailed documentation of backend systems and custom integrations.
- Perform testing for all integrations and workflows.
- Provide documentation and technical notes for integrations and automation.
- Monthly developer report covering integrations, issues resolved, and performance insights.

APIs: Shopify Admin & Storefront API, Klaviyo, Yotpo, Loop, Reviews.io, etc.
