Introduction to the Aga Khan University:
The Aga Khan University’s Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) was established in the year 2020 to serve as a University-wide entity for providing a unique platform for facilitating strategic engagements and partnerships between AKU, University of Central Asia and the wider Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). IGHD aims to address global health and environmental challenges by creating a multi-disciplinary support system and infrastructure, whereby researchers across campuses and regions can collaborate and contribute.
The IGHD works across four thematic areas, including Sustainable Development Goals (including Broad Social Determinants of Health); Gender Equity and Empowerment; Climate Change, Urban Development, and Health, and; Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible to supervise and monitor the research activities including data collection as well as maintain necessary records, create and sustain liaison with the relevant stakeholders for the smooth implementation of all necessary activities of the project. Specific responsibilities include to:
The issuance and return of devices (smart watches, temperature/humidity sensors, GPS units, thermal sensors, etc.) to/from field staff and participants;
maintain detailed device assignment logs, including device IDs, quantities, recipient names, issuance/return dates, and condition status;
coordinate with field supervisors during pre-deployment and post-deployment stages to schedule handovers and returns;
monitor and report missing, damaged, or unreturned devices, and escalate issues per SOPs;
update and reconcile inventory records in spreadsheets or inventory tracking systems regularly;
in preparing device bundles with necessary accessories (e.g., straps, power banks, field packaging) if needed;
participate in periodic stock audits, ensuring alignment between digital records and physical inventory;
maintain orderly and secure storage of all incoming, outgoing, and standby devices;
prepare and present weekly, fortnightly and monthly project reports and presentations.
Requirements
You should have:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent in computer science, IT, or software engineering;
- 1-2 years of related work experience would be preferred;
- strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- team player;
- good analytical skills;
- basic Knowledge of android devices, algorithms, and temperature data loggers like i-buttons;
- data collection, analysis and interpretation in terms of data completeness, identification of missing data, and troubleshooting bugs in the system;
- strong interpersonal skills and communication;
- willingness to work on field sites;
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or basic inventory software.
