Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Assistant Manager – Operations & Business Development to support retail operations and lead targeted growth initiatives including store expansion and franchise development. The ideal candidate will ensure operational excellence across outlets while identifying and executing new business opportunities to scale the brand.
A. Operations Management:
- Oversee operations of assigned outlets to ensure consistency, service quality, and adherence to brand SOPs.
- Monitor and evaluate outlet performance metrics including sales, footfall, customer service, and hygiene standards.
- Manage and coordinate minor touch-ups, tweaks, and layout adjustments at the outlet level to maintain a fresh and appealing store environment.
- Handle repair and maintenance work by coordinating with technicians, vendors, and facility teams to ensure timely resolutions.
- Conduct routine store inspections to identify operational gaps, upkeep issues, and propose corrective actions.
- Implement and reinforce operational excellence by driving process consistency, reducing inefficiencies, and enhancing customer experience.
- Support inventory control, timely restocking, and stock audits to minimize shrinkage and overstocking.
- Collaborate with the HR team for manpower planning, training coordination, and team motivation.
B. Business Development & Expansion:
- Assist in identifying and evaluating new markets and retail locations for potential expansion.
- Conduct area research, footfall analysis, and assist in feasibility reports for new outlets.
- Coordinate with vendors, designers, and contractors for pre-opening tasks, including fit-outs and compliance.
- Explore and develop franchise sales opportunities, including pitching the brand to potential investors, preparing presentations, and supporting end-to-end franchise acquisition processes.
- Manage the onboarding process for new franchisees and ensure compliance with brand standards from the start.
- Cultivate partnerships and explore B2B collaborations to expand brand footprint and revenue streams.
C. Process & Performance Improvement:
- Identify gaps in daily operations and suggest scalable process improvements.
- Develop, refine, and enforce SOPs across locations.
- Analyze competitor strategies and make recommendations for retail positioning and differentiation.
D. Reporting & Insights:
- Compile operational and business development reports and dashboards for review by senior leadership.
- Track KPIs, outlet performance, and project timelines; suggest corrective actions based on trends and data
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, or Marketing.
MBA is a plus
Experience:
- 5 to 6 years of relevant experience in retail operations and business/franchise development.
- Prior exposure to franchise sales, store development, or multi-outlet management is strongly preferred.
- Strong coordination and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, ERP/POS systems, and project management tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively for site visits and business development meetings.
