Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and well-spoken Technical Customer Support Representative to join our team includes role responsible for handling over-the-call deployment, configuration and rollout of a POS (Point of Sale) solution to local businesses typically falls under the scope of Technical Support Specialists, Implementation Specialists, or Onboarding Specialists within a POS company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure proper setup and configuration of peripheral devices:
- Guides the business owner or staff through the installation and configuration of the POS system, including hardware and software setup.
- Ensures the POS is customized to meet the specific needs of the business, such as product catalogs, tax rates, and payment processing.
2. Training:
- Provides over-the-phone training for the business staff on how to use the system effectively.
- Explains features like inventory management, sales tracking, and reporting.
3. Troubleshooting:
- Resolves any technical issues that arise during the deployment process.
- Verifies connectivity with devices like receipt printers, scanners, and card readers.
4. Account Activation:
- Helps the business finalize account setup for features such as payment gateways or loyalty programs.
- Ensures proper activation of licenses or subscriptions tied to the POS solution.
5. Post-Deployment Support:
- Acts as the first point of contact for follow-up issues or optimization requests.
- Hands off the client to ongoing customer support teams once the deployment is successful.
Who Typically Performs This Role?
- Small Companies: The role may be handled by a single person or a small team that combines sales, technical, and customer service skills.
- Implementation Specialist: Focused on the setup and training process.
