We are looking for a motivated and creative English Teacher for our Primary Section (Grades 1–5). The ideal candidate will inspire young learners to develop fluency in English language skills, build vocabulary, and foster a love for reading and writing from an early age.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English language and literature to students in grades 1 to 5 using age-appropriate instructional strategies.
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons focused on reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and speaking.
- Use phonics-based methods and storytelling to develop foundational literacy skills in early grades.
- Conduct engaging class activities including creative writing, role-playing, book reading, and language games.
- Develop and implement daily/weekly lesson plans aligned with ALIS curriculum standards (Oxford or Cambridge preferred).
- Assess and monitor student progress through tests, written assignments, reading fluency checks, and presentations.
- Provide timely feedback to students and maintain accurate academic records.
- Encourage language development through participation in spelling bees, debates, speech contests, and storytime events.
- Manage classroom behavior positively and maintain a warm, inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and school coordinators to develop effective teaching materials and co-curricular planning.
- Participate in professional development workshops and school-wide programs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of classroom teaching experience at the primary level.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; excellent grammar and pronunciation.
- Familiarity with phonics and early childhood reading programs.
- Experience with Oxford or Cambridge English curriculum is a plus.
