We are hiring a dedicated and knowledgeable Science and Geography Teacher to teach students in grades 6 to 8. The successful candidate will foster scientific curiosity and geographical awareness through dynamic, student-centered instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
Science:
- Teach core science subjects including biology, physics, and chemistry appropriate to middle-grade levels.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and guide students through experiments when applicable.
- Use hands-on learning methods and interactive tools to simplify scientific concepts.
- Emphasize inquiry-based learning and scientific thinking.
Geography:
- Deliver lessons on physical and human geography, environmental studies, climate systems, and map skills.
- Use maps, digital resources, and case studies to make geography relatable and engaging.
- Help students understand global issues and the interconnectivity of environments and cultures.
General Duties:
- Prepare and deliver well-structured lesson plans aligned with school curriculum (Cambridge/Oxford-based preferred).
- Evaluate student performance through quizzes, assignments, lab work, and assessments.
- Maintain accurate student progress records and provide feedback.
- Maintain classroom discipline and foster a positive, respectful learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues for cross-curricular projects and school-wide events.
- Organize and supervise science fairs, geography exhibitions, and related co-curricular activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Geography, Education, or a related field.
- 2+ years of teaching experience in middle school (Grades 6–8).
- Strong subject knowledge in both Science and Geography.
- Familiarity with Cambridge or Oxford curriculum is preferred.
