American Lyceum International School is looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Teacher to teach students in Grades 6 to 8. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in General Science, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to inspire curiosity and critical thinking among young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach General Science (including topics from Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) in an engaging, age-appropriate manner.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the curriculum standards.
- Conduct hands-on experiments and activities to enhance learning and understanding.
- Use various teaching methods and technology to support diverse learning styles.
- Assess students through classwork, assignments, tests, and projects, and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment in the classroom.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic progress and student behavior.
- Participate in school meetings, training, and co-curricular activities.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers on curriculum development and school-wide science initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the middle school level.
- Strong command of English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in teaching scientific concepts in an interactive and student-friendly manner.
- Familiarity with international or blended curricula is an advantage.
- Experience with digital teaching tools (e.g., Google Classroom, simulations, presentations) is a plus.
